English for Infants

English courses for infants are for children aged from 3 to 6 years’ old

English courses for Infants are aimed at allowing children to enjoy the process of learning the English language at the early stages of their school life. They are based on an engaging and fun approach of the language, where we focus on ensuring that every lesson is a memorable experience.

Our linguistic objectives are clearly defined, and the sessions are structured around entertaining and highly varied activities. We also include a large number of digital activities using the newest ITC technologies.

The working language is English and we mainly focus on the oral comprehension of the language, even though we motivate our pupils to repeat the words, phrases or songs related to the contents, as well as to use the vocabulary they are working with all the time. However, any intervention from our students is always welcomed and celebrated. At this stage, we do not yet work on literary skills.

At STP Training we also love to introduce our students to the varied and interesting cultures and society of English speaking countries. To this end we celebrate festivities such as Halloween, Christmas, Carnival, St Patricks Day, etc. On these days our students dress up, prepare decorations, dance, sing etc. and, of course, we invite their families to share, wherever possible, these important celebrations with them.

Courses are divided into three evaluations. Pupils do not take tests; however, a very careful continuous and individual assessment is done. At the end of each term we send an assessment report to the families.

The groups are formed of 8 to 15 pupils who are similar in age.

Two lessons per week, one hour each.

Textbook with digital content. Free extra resources provided by the teacher.

English for Primary Education

English courses for primary education, kids aged from 6 to 12 years’ old

At this stage, we work in order to develop the communicative the skills of our students using the English language. The classroom becomes a place to learn, reflect, participate, have fun and progressively communicate in English.

The lessons are run in a participative and relaxed environment where a wide range of activities are used in order to reach our goals. We do this always following a level progression with and adapted methodology and instruction for each age. The working language is always English, both written and spoken. While the students’ progress, literary skills and grammar increase in relevance to stimulate their own language production and therefore achieving a good communicative competence.

At STP Training we also love to introduce our students to the varied and interesting cultures and society of English speaking countries. To this end we celebrate festivities such as Halloween, Christmas, Carnival, St Patricks Day, etc. On these days our students dress up, prepare decorations, dance, sing… and, of course, we invite their families to share, wherever possible, these important celebrations with them.

At this stage there are three distinctive phases.

CHILDREN

Initial and middle phases.
Children 1 y 2 (1st and 2nd year of Primary Education):

The language still has a huge receptive approach. This makes us pay special attention to the comprehension of the oral language. We motivate our pupils to repeat the words, phrases or songs related to the contents, as well as to use the vocabulary they are working in all the time. However, any intervention from our students is always welcomed and celebrated. Unlike the Infant Education, we start working on the literary skills.

Children 3 y 4 (3rd and 4th year of Primary Education):

At this stage, the production of language from students gains relevance. We display highly motivational contents that will allow them to communicate in English. Literary skills are now very important, and the grammar starts to be taught, which will allow students to express themselves precisely.

JUNIOR

Cicle superior

These are the final courses of the Junior Department. All skills are taught meticulously to prepare students for the required level in Secondary School. We introduce the analysis of the language to boost its use and enable them to start producing language and conversations in fluent English.

We assess the progress and skills of our students throughout the course. However, students take a test each term where they must show all their linguistic skills. We then send an assessment report to the families.

The groups are formed of 8 to 15 pupils who are similar in age.

Two lessons per week on alternate days, one hour each, for the Children 1 and 2 groups. The lessons for the rest of the groups are one and a half hours each.

English for teens and adults

The English department for teens and adults offers courses for students from 12 years old upwards. These courses are from Beginner Level (A1) to Advanced Level (C2) within the Common European Framework of Reference for languages (CEFR). It is required to take a level test prior to the course assignation.

Our main objective is to provide students with the knowledge and strategies that are needed in order to use the English language successfully, both in the academic and professional fields. In addition, we aim to stimulate their curiosity for language learning.

We motivate our students to communicate in English through an adapted didactic depending on their age, interests and learning pace. In each session we present a range of varied activities with ICT support tools to work on every linguistic skill. The working language is always English, both written and oral, from the first level. According to the group progress, vocabulary and grammar become more complex, which allows students to achieve a proper communicative competence and to be well-prepared for the most demanding international exams.

We get our students acquainted with the relevant features of the English language and culture. This allows them to understand different ways of thinking, being and doing, which will be very useful when it comes to understanding information related to English speaking countries.
